Mark Nolte, a TV General Manager for Lotus TV of Tampa, llc., manages Four for now and soon
eight TV Channels. Happy hunting Folks.
IF YOU HAVE $100...YOU HAVE A GREAT IDEA FOR A PROGRAM!

Broadcasting has dramatically changed over the past 20 years. Engineering is not electro-mechanical automation, studios,
towers, or power tubes. Its post convergence mpeg video integrated audio streaming media across multi platforms, PC, MAC,
Smart-phones, and various app driven technology. I dont miss fixing cart machines and tone arm head-shells. I dont miss the
pitiful pay and life risky work as a broadcast engineer. Not everything goes as planned. The picture above is a good example.
I have the blade somewhere. Its not like we could put it back on the way it came off. If the weather is bad and someone has
you believe you have to go fix something. Three, Six or 24 hours, will it matter a year from now? Will it cost you your job?
Evaluate your place in the world and weigh the risks. A snow cat would have been a long ride but cheaper than what it cost
to fix this Jet Ranger 3. Greatfully this did not catch fire like the Quail Park Helo that crashed on Mt. Potosi Nevada
in the 90s.

SR-71 Blackbirds
are still protected under NSA law. Time and technology are hard targets to keep up with. We have the results of 150 years science
because the media business has needed 50 years of spotlights on technology to sell us tech stocks and tech development.
What seems to have happend in 50 years of technology and industry, really took 150 years. To say we got ideas from
alien technology, We did if you count capturing German and Russian Scientists during WWI and WWII. Roswell is a
great story. If we traded for technology, what would we have to trade? If we found anything 50 years ago, we havent done much
with it in 50 years. It dosent seem like we made any new friends that want to show up or show off any life giving ray
beams or gravity skateboards. The web spins stories way ahead of actual fact or developments.

The actual streaming cost of an internet video file to watch a video stream can cost $200 to $30,000 per month depending how
many viewers. Eight different streaming encoders are needed just for Android phones alone, for I phones and I pads it takes
two encoders, PCs are the single largest group, and other types take 30 or more encoding schemes. Audio Streaming Radios here
are now, not the future. TV and Smartphones are just not a practical use of internet resources.

In a dry desert economy when the times are bad, people will
befriend anyone who tries to make a difference. Leopards never change their spots. New stations are like promoting a new nightclub.
It will do better the first year than it will ever do the next five. If the town yawns at you, sell quick at any price. It
will not get any better in a great economy. Oil hits record highs and your in the hottest market in years, you cant sell $1
spots but you can raise $1000 a day selling breakfast tacos. Look in the rear view mirror at the place.

Working on a Submarine is like a 35KW TTC Silverline TV Transmitter,
High Voltage and water never mixes well. My big shot at Sub life was this dry docked tour display in Mobile, Alabama.
Last year in Hawaii I walked through another submarine parked near the USS Arizona and the USS Missouri. Just always loved
to dream about sub life. Took the sub ride at Disneyland when I was 5 and again when I was 45. My ticket was worth every penny,
that dream still lives in my head. Mickey Mouse has is a great dream factory for any age.

Not a good choice as a survival vehicle (Soviet T-55) even with a bumper sticker
that says "please ask first, shoot later!
Don't just wait for the next disaster before you prepare for a shift
in climate, political or otherwise. Get to know your neighbors as good friends. Have an off-road able EMP proof vehicle with
an interior NEPA air filter and 1500 mile range without refueling. Keep it road legal, packed and ready for travel and temporary
shelter with 10 days food and water supplies on board. Pack a cartop carrier with whatever you are not willing to leave behind
stored in your garage/secured storage. Take what tools you need to make a living. Study for a day to day type vocational trade
so you can solicite day work without a regular job. You should protect all electronic gear by storing items in an all-metal
garbage can with jumper cables to a well grounded water pipe.
A very important natural catastrophy survival element
is transportation. The first tool you should prepare for is your EMP resistant vehicle. Most vehicles have three problems:
1.) The need for fuel that limits the range of escape distances between fuel stops if they were not convienient. A.)Propane conversions let you use regular gas but allow switching to clean propane that can be stored indefinately and
100 gallon tanks are common in combination with gas tanks they can easly extend maximum ranges to 1500 miles without refueling.
B.) You can find extra fuel tanks at Tractor Supply Co. or any Truck Accessory Store, even NAPA has them or can order them
for you. C.) You can also use 6 Gallon outboard motor boat tanks for less than $20 at Walmart. Use fuel stabilizer (Sta-bil)
because the fuel will go bad without it.
2.) Electronic ignition modules that create spark and computers that
regulate fuel and engine timing. EMP will destroy ingnition modules and computer timing systems...Aquire and protect backup
parts for systems you drive now or convert them to points and condensor systems.
3.) Rarely need 4x4 for off
road conditions. A small wench, chainsaw and a shovel. I have a 5 foot steel rod with a chisel end, I use for traction
with the wench if roadways are blocked by disabled vehicles, other obstructions or damage to roadways. Hurricane Charley left
an undelieveable debris field, many blocked roads, vehicles were left as-is where-is. Huge road signs bent over the roads
not able to pass without leaving the roadways.
Don't buy an old Jeep. Get a Pre-1975, relatively light Volkswagen
or Subaru GL Wagon with snow tires. Trust me less is more. You will be loaded down and should have a Small automotive tool
kit, a good lug wrench and Jack, 2 spare tires, a tire patch kit, tire chains and a folding camp shovel. Have you ever spent
the night in a Volkswagen? Pre-powerstroke Ford or Dodge diesels are cheap and easy to update with extra range fuel tanks.

I practice what I preach: Diesel fuel can sit for years. I say pre-1975 because of electronic spark
modules and computers, but I have a low mileage 1988 1-ton Chevy Van 3500 Rally with the 6.2 liter GM Diesel. The Diesel does
not use a computer. Any older vehicle you choose needs to be driven to work out any bugs, belts, electrical issues. This had
16.5 metric rims changed to more common 16 inch rims with commercial 8-ply new tires. The GM Diesel is not my favorite. Its
a 350 Conversion with a fuel filter that snaps on sideways and traps air everytime you change it. This means you break loose
and bleed injectors everytime you need to change it. To understand what I just said, You need to know your vehicle. Not complete
mechanic skills but basic understanding of its service needs. It is rare to find a 20 year old vehicle with less than 50,000
miles on it. You need to understand everything in the air path, fuel path and firing path of your car. Is the transmission
serviced? Battery? and Tires? Do not count on the GPS. Keep good maps. I have a 1200 watt gas generator and an electric Chain
Saw that runs on it. An electric impact wrench and sockets, floor jack and full tools to work on my vehicle.

"I can make
you a broadcaster with nothing but the shirt on your back." No one person can know everything, knowing who to call, and
understanding your own personal limits is true brilliance. My background in Scouting taught me to...Be Prepared!" As
a thirty year boy scout I have learned to not just prepare for the future but create my future. Not just study the history
of media but make history in media. If I never hit your screen I hope your dream finds you, mine
found me...still I am never too busy to hear about your success. Steel sharpens steel, only share your dreams with someone
who will encourage you to achieve your dreams. You are welcome to call me, Mark Nolte at (813) 403-MARK(6275) Eastern
times before midnight.

THE NATION THAT SEPARATES CHURCH AND STATE, RULES BY THE SECRETS OF
COWARDS, DEFENDED BY THE IGNORANT, AND BE JUDGED BY THE DECEIVED. WHO IS ABOVE ME, IS ABOVE YOU, WHO IS ATHOURITY ABOVE YOU? It is human
nature for people despise those who treat them well and look up to those who make no concessions. Distracted by the three
greatest things, Fear, Honor and Profit, we forget our opportunity to favor, this the seeds of our future. As the sun sets,
we have done nothing to be wondered at!

Who said anything about vertical integration(piles of stuff
neatly onto plies of stuff that work together), loose the square rim glasses, drop the power-point stuff and get to the point.
Surfing takes a ton of energy, fight to get a few great waves and you suddenly get the feeling your done. The surf was cool
but the photo is regrettable. Just a few buffets away from cardiac arrest, you be the judge.

- Here is a beginning list of items and areas that need planning for an evacuation and survival in a disaster,
not an Apocalypse. You will not find what you need after the fact.
Collection of various study Bibles (versions
and quanity to suit your personal situations) Dont pack mule what you dont need!!! One 250 round 12 gauge cases of ammo. One 12 guage shotgun, I like two of the same models. Far better to learn to safely handle one than none. Ammo reloading
kit/and cleaning supplies. Two plastic firesafe.
Reloading Shotgun shells in dangerous because you need to
practice and concentrate. It is very important to learn this talent while not under any pressure or need. There is a Gun shop
in every town in America and it will shock you to learn reloading is a lost art, many owner/operators view the cost of ammo
so cheap and easy to get why bother. What will you do with your guns when you run out of ammo? Remember to Alamo! We ran out
of ammo and they kept coming. If you have only one gun make it a shotgun. My Dad is safer with a .410 or a 20, I will stick
with 12 gauge. The plastic firesafes, one is for important papers, one is for blackpowder supplies.
Never
give away your only backup supplies. It is everyone elses job to prepare themselves for their safety. You have to pick your
own battles first. - Case of sugar free gums and hard candy, and cool-aid packs.
Ten Days supply of MRE's (food)
for every member of your family, about $50 a case of 12 meal packs. Water needs are one gallon per day per person. Water distillation kit (Passive cooking pot types that do not need electricity). Coleman one burner stove that works
on gasoline. Stove-top Coffee pot. Presto 4 quart ($17) pressure cooker and a 3/8" yellow coiled air hose(Attach
the tubing to the top vent of the pressure cooker pot) makes a simple water distiller. Camping Cookware Kit. - Gas
masks or organic chemical paint respirators available ($25) from hardware stores everywhere. Small clear lens swim goggles
($10) to protect eyes and tear ducts from dirt and pesty chemicals. Handy Wipes make many friends in a disaster. Any catastrophe
leaves a ton of airborne debris, dead animals and unknown exposures or spills that can make you sick. I have multiple personal
first hand experiences in not being able to take a life giving breath...DO NOT IGNORE THIS!
- Two first aid kits ($20
each).
Develop a minimal medical library and anti-bacterial, anti-biotic, analgesic kits) including a one year supply
of any critical medications you may need that fit your personal situations. Please spend a lot of time on this step. Assemble
a comprehensive sewing kit. Old pair of crutches. Extra pairs of hiking boots (Red-wing, Ariat or Caterpillar Steel-toes).
Wear them just enough to be comfortable for walking. - Get a hand held radiation detector (portable Geiger counter)
on eBay. Don't forget rechargeable batteries and solar chargers for small batteries. You will need this and it will be rare
some day. Do not store this with batteries installed. This may need to sit for years!
- Canvas Tent or portable shelter.
A Camp Saw. Sleeping bags. Winter coats and gloves. Heavy mil thick plastic drop cloths. Trash Bags
can be makeshift rain gear. Carbon monoxide monitor. A Port-a-Potty Toilet. If you are foolish enough to
run out of toilet paper, remember the Internet made JC Penny catalogs obsolete. - Two Deep Cycle 12 volt Marine batteries.
Two 1000 watt Power inverters A 6000 BTU A/C unit. A 700 watt microwave with mechanical controls. 12
volt refrigerator cooler. Build a 12 volt NEPA filter for air handling air in any form of temporary shelter with a NEPA
filter element available from Craftsman at Sears next to the canister type shop vacuums. Road-Pro is a Truck Stop brand of
12 volt toys and they make a 12 volt cannister vacuum that fits on a Craftsman NEPA filter. Hand powered solid state
LED flashlights are a great choice because they have no filaments to break. Florescent lanterns with rechargeable batteries.
- Basic mountain, or Beach runner bicycles with extra tires, tubes, tools and patch kits and generator feed lights.
Water bags and baskets. Keep this simple with mens and womens using the same tubes and tires. Basic and simple is best. A
bike rack for the back of your vehicle is a must. Some people are past bicycle abilities so just do what you can.
- Foxfire
manuals about how to live off the land (what is edible, what to avoid, etc.) Volumes 1 thru 12 are superb.
US Army survival
manual. Dedicate a backpack to carry and fill with How-to books, Army Survival Guides, Field Surgery Medical Manual
and a good medicine guide. Outdoor/Microwave cookbooks and Readers Digest prints many cool books. Chilton Generic Auto guides
for your specific vehicle that includes wiring guides. If you can find a basic farm animal care guide, a good gardening guide. Delorme Road Atlas maps that show back-roads off the Interstate. - GPS Receiver with map display.
Long range
FM Walkie-talkies. Ham gear (Radio Shack has a great book to study and pass a no-morse code ham license). A CB radio.
An AM/FM/TV radio, and maybe a shortwave radio.
All electronics and radios must be stored in all metal trash
cans sealed and grounded top and bottoms.
This is a needs list from the top down. You need all of it so start
where you can. Line item this stuff and draw a line thru what you have. Your vehicle is a higher priority than everything
on this list. Any pre 1975 vehicle with points and a carburetor, extra fuel tanks(6 gallon types for boats will work) and
fuel stabilizer additive don't forget extra oils and fluids.
If you have the funds, certian items are well valued,
and trade for favors like cash. Even if you don't use these items and have the space, stock ammo, canned beans, packs of inexpensive
Bugler handmade cigarette supplies. Favors trade for things when cash is not appropriate.
Grace and Peace -Mark
